Octopus LSFO Skimmer
DESMI Octopus LSFO skimmer is designed with a brush bank, consisting of five Y-shaped brush belts that actively grab into the oil slick. This, paired with integrated powerful thrusters, makes it a great choice for operational flexibility. The incorporation of our well-known DESMI DOP pump enables it to handle solids and viscous oils at high discharge pressure.
The new skimmer is able to handle a wide spectrum of oil types under dynamic conditions.
The Octopus Skimmer has gone through testing on LSFO, VLSFO, and ULSFO under the EU-funded IMAROS 2 project, demonstrating its high performance.
